September 2010 was the first KUEF service trip to Meru. Leadership was provided by Marianne Clauw, then Executive Director of KUEF, Dr. Dan Clauw and founding Board Member, Beth Miller. Beth, the current KUEF Executive Director, has been to Meru eight times since 2003. She has led seven service teams to Kenya and introduced over 190 volunteers to Meru. This was Marianne's second trip to Meru and Dan's third. Beth and Gil Miller with Kithoka Primary students. The September 2010 projects facilitated by the service team in one week in Meru included:
Bliss Students are taught basic First Aide by Gilson Miller and team on September service week. Students practice Heimlich maneuver. There usually one or two service trips per year, with 14 - 21 participants on each trip. Participants fund their own travel.
