Bishop Lawi Imathiu Secondary School, Kithoka Kenya

Bishop Lawi Imathiu Secondary School (BLISS) is a public day school that serves families in the community offering a cost effective alternative to the predominant boarding school system in Kenya.

Current enrollment exceeds 700 and is considered a high performing school  

based on student performance on their National Exams.

Second Block of Classrooms mirrors the original.  Completed in 2014

2019 BLISS MULTI-PURPOSE BUILDING

Construction of  large-group meeting space for whole school assemblies, interschool events, teacher family meetings, student dining, music instruction and performance.

Phase I  COMPLETED 2019 of multiyear project

 

Phase 2 - 2020, funded & building

Fundraising is ongoing for Phase 3.

2018 BLISS Public Health Initiative

 

Construct modern toilet facilities for 700 BLISS students, replacing pit latrines, thereby

improving sanitation and public health at the school. 

Phase I COMPLETED construction of girl-friendly toilet and wash facility to promote good hygiene and safety with a septic system and BIO-incinerator for sanitary pad disposal.

 GOAL FOR 2020 - Reached

Reached fundraising goal of $20,000 to complete project
