2018 BLISS Public Health Initiative

Construct modern toilet facilities for 600 BLISS students, replacing pit latrines, and thereby improving sanitation and public health considerations at the school. 

Phase I includes construction of girl-friendly toilet and wash facility to promote good hygiene and safety with a septic system and incinerator for sanitary pad disposal.

Ground breaking for Girls Facility occured in January 2018.

Fundraising is ongoing.

2018 BLISS Main Hall

Construction of  large-group meeting space for whole school assemblies, interschool events, teacher family meetings, student dining, music instruction and performance.

Phase I of multiyear project will begin later in 2018.

2016 BLISS Second Science Lab Classroom Block and School Assembly Area & Flag Pole

Bishop Lawi Imathiu Secondary School (BLISS) is a day public school that serves the poorest families in the community that cannot afford the predominant boarding school system in Kenya.

Current enrollment exceeds 600 and is considered a high performing school based on student performance on their National Exam.
