Introducing Dr. Margaret Punch, KUEF Director at Large

I have known Margaret for more than 20 years and admired her professionalism, enthusiasm, and commitment to every role she undertakes.

Margaret is from Ann Arbor, Michigan, and is a retired University of Michigan obstetrician-gynecologist. Her first volunteer trip to Kenya was in 2016, when she traveled with her husband, Jeff, her son, Jeremy, and a team from First United Methodist Church of Ann Arbor. Since then, she has returned to Kithoka many times, most recently in June 2025 for the retirement celebration of BLISS Principal Moses Marette.

Among her favorite Meru memories are leading rabbit dissections for enthusiastic BLISS biology students and watching students at Gichunge Primary School grow not only in age but also in confidence, achievement, and opportunity.

Margaret is passionate about reducing barriers to education through scholarships, supporting the unique needs of female students, and advancing the strong science programs and laboratory experiences at both the junior and senior schools.
