2025 Program Highlgihts

Dear Friend,

Kenyan children living in acute poverty continued to receive a quality education - thanks to your generosity!

Your continued support in 2025 made it possible to:

  1. Keep schools open and staffed with teachers

  2. Feed children at school

  3. Provide books and supplies to learn

  4. Overcome barriers for girls to attend school every day

  5. Award scholarships enabling students to pursue their educational goals

2025 accomplishments highlight the impact of your support:

  • Over 50% of Bishop Lawi Imathiu Secondary School (BLISS) students received scholarships that enabled disadvantaged youth to obtain a quality secondary education. These school fees enabled payment of teacher and staff salaries, ensuring BLISS remained open.

  • 9 BLISS top-performing graduates received university scholarships.

  • 18 additional BLISS graduates received scholarships for post-secondary vocational, technical or university education.

  • 645 female students at 5 schools received sanitary pads and underwear to enable them to attend school every day.

  • 769 Gichunge and Kithoka Primary School students received porridge every school day.

  •  435 BLISS students were provided lunch due to crop failure in school gardens.

  • School books and science supplies were provided for BLISS to enhance learning and performance on national examinations.

  • 23 BLISS Band students competed in the National Secondary School Band Competition held in Kaaga, Kenya.

All of this happened because of donations from you and our partner organizations, including Park City Community Church (Utah) and First United Methodist Church of Ann Arbor (MI). We also worked in parallel with independent collaborator Aaka Kenya Partners CBO (Kenya).

The Kenyan community sends words of deep gratitude for educating their children and giving hope for a better future.

Asante sana! Thank you! Thank you!

On behalf of the KUEF Board,
Yours sincerely,
Gary McClusky
Treasurer
